RTF.511 | Cllr Bailey informed the meeting that Radcliffes Area Plan would be formally agreed at the Township Forum meeting to be held on 29 February, 2012. It was reported that the plan would comprise of key achievable priorities for Radcliffe, to be commonly agreed by community leaders, representatives, residents and partner agencies. Cllr Bailey invited attendees to take part in a Round Table Discussion based upon a number of key themes on how to improve life for Radcliffe residents. Suggestions made during these discussions would help formulate Radcliffes Area Plan. Following the discussions, the following priorities were identified:-
TABLE 1: EMPLOYMENT/WORKLESSNESS/INCOME Aims - Reduce number of benefit claimants Increase opportunities for work including back to work training
1.Meaningful partnership working across all three sectors - private/public/Third Sharing knowledge
2.Government Empty Home Strategy - Work of Groundwork Apprenticeship scheme Apprenticeships/Pathways to Work/Skills & Employability People need to be job ready when employment opportunities arise
3.External Funding Is funding available but need a dedicated team to in order to access - need good applications 4.Identify disused buildings and bring them back into use. Possibly link to training

RTF.512 | The Chair, Councillor M Bailey, invited questions, comments and representations from members of the public present at the meeting. Questions were asked and comments made on the issues detailed below. The Township Forum Co-ordinator undertook to obtain a reply to matters which could not be dealt with at the meeting.
When would the Canal clean up commence and what time frame was involved? Councillor Bury informed the meeting of the funding involved in the scheme (approximately £140k) and that some of the work to be undertaken was dependent upon receipt of Section 106 payments and funding from British Waterways. The start date of work around Water Street was imminent. The scheme had secured fund for the next 3 years.
Concerns in relation to parking on Church Street near to the Health Centre and overflow from the Tram Station.
Comments regarding the provision of household recycle bins to be investigated. Concerns regarding fly tipping on Six Town Housing land.
The issue raised at the last meeting relating to the obstruction of footpaths had not yet been dealt with. The Township Co-ordinator stated that the matter had been reported via the Customer Contact Team. Cllr Isherwood gave an assurance that these concerns would be investigated.
