RTF.55 | Nominations were invited from members of the Radcliffe Township Forum to appoint the Chair and Vice-Chair for the Forum for the 2013/14 Municipal Year. |
RTF.57 | Christine Maksymowski, Township Co-ordinator, submitted a report which outlined the performance of the Radcliffe Township Forum and the progress on each of the themes contained within the Radcliffe Township Action Plan for 2012-13. It was reported that the information provided had been gathered from a number of qualitative sources including Bury Insight, Index of Multiple Deprivation, Area Profile Data and various local community intelligences.
It was reported that there were 6 key thematic priorities contained within the Radcliffe Township Action Plan for 2012/13:
•Improved Employment Opportunities •Improved Community Safety •Improved Health and Wellbeing •Improved Educational Attainment/Learning Opportunities •Improved Public Transport Links •Improved Community Pride and Belonging
The report provided a summary of the overall performance for each of the themes and the projects which contribute to their delivery and all those in attendance at the meeting were invited to take part in round-table discussions on each of the key priorities contained within the Plan. It was reported that all of the ideas raised at the meeting would be collated, written into the draft Plan and presented at the next scheduled meeting of the Radcliffe Township Forum.

RTF.58 | The Township Co-ordinator submitted the Radcliffe Township Plan 2012-15, which outlined how the Forum would continue to make progress towards the vision for the Township in order to promote better outcomes for the social, health, economic and environmental well-being of the people within the Radcliffe Community. |
RTF.59 | The Chair, Colin Jones informed the meeting that there were currently 4 Advisory Group Member vacancies and welcomed applications from anyone interested in representing their constituted community group on the Township Forum. Those who wished to apply were asked to email the Clerk to Radcliffe Township Forum at k.m.murphy@bury.gov.uk.
Colette Jones provided an update on the work of Friends of Close Park since the last meeting of the Forum, as follows:-
• The Radcliffe Athletics Club relay held on Monday 3 June raising money for charity. • Balsam Bashing Day to be held on 30 June at 11 am. Anyone who volunteers at the park for a ½ hour would receive a gardening hamper. It was reported that Stand Church Gardening Group may be interested in this event. • The group were currently unable to utilise the £200 donation received to plant in the sensory garden due to insurance issues. The planting would need to take place within the next 3 weeks due to the planting season. Could anyone help? • Bury Hospice Party in the Park ¡V 3 marquees were required for the event. Cllr Lewis asked Colette to contact her after the meeting. • HLF bid ¡V Viridor had retracted their match funding and there were now concerns as to the sustainability of the bid if the Council were to pull out.
Roy Vevers, Radcliffe Carnival informed the meeting that this would not be the last Carnival to take place. In 2 years time it would be the 50th Anniversary of the Carnival and the Committee wanted to ensure that they would be able to mark this anniversary. The Chair, Colin Jones informed the meeting that a Carnival Committee meeting would be held in the coming weeks and asked that anyone interested in supporting the event to attend and provide contact details to either Roy, Andy or Colin after the meeting. A discussion then followed on concerns relating to recent anti-social behaviour in Radcliffe and concerns that the Carnival may encourage further disruption to residents. The Chair reported that the event would be supported by the police and requested that the police be invited to attend the next meeting of the Forum in order to discuss the issue further. There followed a discussion on the processes involved in road closures for events taking place in and around Radcliffe.

RTF.60 | The Chair invited questions, comments and representations from members of the public present at the meeting. Questions were asked and comments made on the issues detailed below. The Township Forum Co-ordinator undertook to obtain a reply to matters which could not be dealt with at the meeting. X Concerns raised regarding open sites in the area awaiting development. X Concerns regarding the closure of the Metrolink in Radcliffe to upgrade to multi-storey car park. X Concerns in relation to the positioning of the bus stop on the other side of the Metrolink ¡V buses cannot get into the built up area. X A comment relating to the attendance of councillors at the funerals of Austin Walsh and Jim Mason X A question regarding the future of Radcliffe Library X A question in relation the gates to the former East Lancs Paper Mill X A 200 year old vase had been found in Close Park following the collapse of the Riverbank. X A question regarding the old name boards from Radcliffe High School.
