C.432 HONORARY FREEDOM OF THE BOROUGH - WILLIAM JOHNSON MBE
It was moved by Councillor Byrne, seconded by Councillor Walker and supported by the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Davison, and by Councillor Higgin and -

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY:

That the Council, in exercise of their powers under Section 249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972, admit William Johnson MBE to the Honorary Freedom of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury as he has, in the opinion of the Council, rendered eminent and outstanding service to the residents of Bury during his period of office as a Councillor spanning over 43 years with the Metropolitan Borough Council and the former Tottington Urban District Council and that the Worshipful the Mayor present Mr Johnson with an illuminated scroll, casket and medallion to mark the occasion of his admission as an Honorary Freeman of the Borough.

The Worshipful the Mayor asked William Johnson MBE to sign the Freeman’s Declaration and then presented him with the Illuminated Scroll of Honorary Freeman, Casket and Medallion.
