C.1219 1. HONORARY FREEDOM OF THE BOROUGH -
COUNCILLOR GORDON SHARKEY
RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY:

That the Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972, admit Councillor Gordon Sharkey to the Honorary Freedom of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury as he has, in the opinion of the Council, rendered eminent and outstanding service to the residents of Bury during his period of office as a Councillor spanning 30 years with the Metropolitan Borough Council and also the former Whitefield Urban District Council and that the Worshipful the Mayor present Councillor Sharkey with an illuminated scroll, casket and medallion to mark the occasion of his admission as an Honorary Freeman of the Borough.

The Worshipful the Mayor asked Councillor Sharkey to sign the Freeman’s Declaration and then presented him with the illuminated Scroll of Honorary Freeman, Casket and Medallion.
The meeting started at 6.00 pm and ended at 6.40 pm
