C.714Councillors J F Walton and J W H Taylor declared personal and prejudicial interests in Minute EX.675, “Construction of the Phase 2 Roads and Drainage Infrastructure at Chamberhall Business Park,” as they represented the Council on the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, and undertook to leave the meeting should the matter be discussed.
C.716The Worshipful the Mayor informed Members of the recent death of Mrs Margaret Robinson who had made a significant contribution to the life of Bury and was involved in fundraising for many charitable causes, in particular, the Bury Hospice Association.

Members stood in silence as a mark of respect and remembrance of Mrs Robinson.

As this was the last meeting of the year, the Mayor offered her thanks to Members, including those who would not be seeking re-election, and to the Council’s staff for their service to the affairs of the Borough.

The Mayor then reminded members:-

- The Gallipoli Commemoration and St George’s Day Celebration Dinner and Ball would be held at the Radcliffe Civic Suite on 24 April 2010

- Prior to the meeting of Council on 30 June 2010 there would be a further Council meeting at 5.30 p.m. to confer the Freedom of the Borough on former Councillor Albert Little OBE.

Finally, the Mayor was supported by all Members in giving thanks and best wishes to David Hanson, Head of Democratic Services, who was retiring from the Council on 31 March 2010.
