C.81 HONORARY FREEDOM OF THE BOROUGH - MR ALBERT LITTLE OBE
It was moved by Councillor Bibby, seconded by Councillor Boden and supported by Councillor Garner and -

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY:

That the Council in exercise of its powers under Section 249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972, admit Mr Albert Little OBE to the Honorary Freedom of the Metropolitan Borough as he has, in the opinion of the Council, rendered eminent and outstanding service to the former Ramsbottom Urban District and the Bury Metropolitan Borough as a Member of those Councils during which periods he held the high office of Chairman of the Urban District for the Municipal Year 1971 to 1972 and Mayor of the Metropolitan Borough for the Municipal Year 1983 to 1984 and the office of Leader of the Metropolitan Borough Council from 1974 to 1983 and 1984 to 1986.

The Worshipful the Mayor asked Mr Little to sign the Freeman’s Declaration and then presented him with the illuminated Scroll of Honorary Freeman and Medallion.
The meeting started at 5.30 pm and ended at 6.15 pm.
