HSC.120
Councillor James Frith referred to a public meeting that had been held recently by Bury's Save our NHS campaign and explained that three specific areas had come out of that meeting that he requested the Health Scrutiny Committee consider to undertake;
That an up to date register of declared interests is kept by Bury's CCG and published through the work of the Health Scrutiny Committee.
That the CCG make guarantees that all decisions on staffing local services are clinically led and not motivated simply by cost.
That Bury's preference be made clear to maintain the NHS Preferred Provider Model for commissioning local services and to guarantee that no contract signed between the CCG and any private provider extends beyond May 2015.
Councillor Bury explained that where possible the Committee had asked that these issues be considered and where these issues fell within the remit of the Committee they had already been considered.
It was explained that Health Scrutiny Committee had a long and
Healthy relationship with the local CCG and that the CCG had worked closely with the Committee on their joint working protocols that had been produced following a piece of work that had been carried out during the last municipal year.
HSC.123
Councillor Bury explained that at the last meeting of the Committee it had been agreed that this meeting would be held to discuss and plan the future work of the Committee and draw up a work programme for the following 3 years' work.
The group were asked to discuss the topics that they felt should be included as items that the Committee would want to receive reports on and possible sub group projects to be undertaken.
It was explained that a number of items would be coming back to the Committee for updates at future meetings.
It was also reported that the Integrated Service Plan would be considered at the next meeting of the Committee in July.
