Councillor Connolly expressed disappointment at the decision of the Planning Inspectorate to allow the appeal in respect of premises at Cook Street, Bury. The Committee had unanimously decided to refuse the application. Councillor Connolly thanked the officers from the Planning Department for the extensive time and effort devoted in the preparation of the case to the Planning Inspectorate. He commented that the decision to allow the appeal would give the wrong message to developers that choose to ignore the advice and judgement of the Planning Control Committee and the planning officers.
P.20A report by the Development Manager was submitted relating to the overall performance on Planning appeals for the year 2007/8.
