EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC
To consider passing the appropriate resolution under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business since they involve the likely disclosure of the exempt information stated.
It was agreed:
That the press and public be excluded from the meeting.
The panel considered the written information provided in the appeals’ papers as well as representations made at the meeting and the statements provided by the witnesses.
Following deliberations the panel agreed unanimously that the original decision made at the Grievance Hearing was the correct decision.
It was agreed:
To uphold the Grievance Appeal in the following areas;
· The grievance heard on 17 September 2018 was partially upheld.
· The Cabinet report will be released to staff as previously requested by SK.
· The revised consultation pack will be released to staff and Unison.
· The updated report concerned will be released to staff.
The consultation process cannot be restarted. Staff will be involved in designing how the service will look in the future. An equality assessment will be carried out as part of this project.
Regarding the issue in relation to GDPR the Panel are satisfied that remedial action was taken at the time. The consultation toolkit is in the process of being amended.
