Members of Human Resources Committee are asked to consider whether they have an interest in any of the matters on the Agenda, and, if so, to formally declare that interest.

EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC

To consider passing the appropriate resolution under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business since they involve the likely disclosure of the exempt information stated.

HRA.3

APPEAL AGAINST DISMISSAL

Minutes:

Consideration was given to an appeal against dismissal by an employee (J.I.) from the Choices for Living Well Service.

 

The appellant attended the meeting via Microsoft Teams accompanied by her union representative Carl Jakeway (UNISON).

 

Caroline Schofield, Strategic Lead - HR was in attendance to advise the Panel.

 

Chloe Ashworth from Democratic Services attended as Clerk.

 

The Chair introduced those present and explained the hearing procedure, which was followed during the hearing.

 

Carl Jakeway presented JI’s appeal. Dill Hawley, Intermediate Tier Lead presented the management case assisted by Ursula Skinner HR Advisor. 

 

The Chair thanked the members of the Panel and all officers for their attendance.

 

Delegated decision:

 

1.   That the appeal against dismissal be refused.

 

2.   The decision to terminate JI on the 26th May 2020 as per the letter dated 03rd March 2020 be upheld.
