DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Members of Human Resources Committee are asked to consider whether they have an interest in any of the matters on the Agenda, and, if so, to formally declare that interest.

Caroline Schofield presented a report setting out two new policies that the Council and the CCG aimed to introduce to support becoming foster friendly employers, these were: Foster Care Leave and Child Foster Placement Policy.

 

It was reported that the policies had been developed in conjunction with the Council’s Corporate Parenting Development Officer.

 

The Foster Care Leave Policy had been developed to offer additional time off for eligible existing and prospective foster carers.

 

The Child Foster Placement Policy had been developed to allow qualifying staff up to six weeks’ paid leave of absence following a placement being made.

 

It was agreed:

 

That the Human Resources and Appeals panel support the implementation of the Foster Friendly Policies

Caroline Schofield presented a report setting out the proposed closure of buildings during the Christmas and New Year period 2019/2020.

Minutes:

Caroline Schofield presented the Domestic Violence and Abuse Policy which aims to assist and support managers in supporting staff when incidents of domestic violence and abuse are reported.

 

Councillor McGill asked whether the policy name could be changed to include ‘support’.

 

It was agreed:

 

That the introduction of the policy be supported.

EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC

To consider passing the appropriate resolution under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business since they involve the likely disclosure of the exempt information stated.
