Visit to the Mayor's Parlour Minutes: The Mayor invited the Youth Cabinet for a tour of The Mayor’s Parlour.
Those present were given the opportunity to ask questions and make comments.
It was agreed:
That the Mayor, Councillor Trevor Holt and the Mayoress Mrs Evelyn Holt be thanked for their kind hospitality.

Local Pilot Pritesh from Sports Development will report at the meeting Minutes: Lucy Fitzsimon – Sports Development officer, gave a short presentation on the Bury Local Pilot that is being rolled out in Radcliffe to ‘Get people Moving’. On completion of the Radcliffe Pilot, it is the intention to roll this out across the borough.
Lucy asked the cabinet to complete a questionnaire which she would take away with her and asked for any volunteers to become involved in this.

Any Youth Cabinet member wishing to get involved contact Heather or Adele to pass details to Lucy.

POSH Update Minutes: Harriet Potts, the POSH (Pioneers Of Sustainable Hope) North West representative, gave a short talk on how she was invited by Scottish Power to attend an Awards Evening in Glasgow as she had been nominated for an award. Harriet did not win but enjoyed the opportunity and met with other nominees.
Harriet explained that POSH were looking to change people’s attitude to fashion and ‘fast fashion’ by encouraging clothes swapping parties and events where young people could swap the clothes they no longer wore for their friends’ unwanted clothes. It was explained that 2 primary schools would be the pilot and this would then be rolled out to other schools. It was hoped that by removing the stigma associated with second hand, fewer clothes would be bought and fewer thrown away.

Make your Mark Adele / Heather will report at the meeting. Minutes: Adele advised the Cabinet that the National Ballot for Make your Mark is currently taking place and gave an explanation on how to complete it (copies of the ballot papers were circulated).
Adele advised the Cabinet to vote for issues that affect them.
Each young person has 3 votes; one UK issue, one devolved issue and one local issue.
The Youth Parliament will come together on the 8th November 2019 to debate and decide the most important issues to campaign on. The result of the ballot will prioritise the issues for the debate.
Adele reported that she will be going into Holy Cross College on their Open Day on Saturday 5 October to promote Make your Mark any Youth Cabinet members wishing to help should leave their name with her.
