The introduction of the Social Work Workforce Strategy 23 – 26 developed in 2022 in collaboration with practitioners and managers and launched in 2023, included a commitment to introduce a more specialised training offer for Experienced Social Workers (ESW).

Bury Adult Social Care is committed to improving the support it offers to both children and adults.

As part of our ongoing improvement plans to ensure equipment and adaptions are provided more promptly an additional senior OT post will be created to work within our Disability Services

The creation of this post will enable the council to more prompt carry out assessment of our children and young people for equipment and adaptations.

In order to ensure the delivery of modern and efficient Learning Disability Services as part of our transformation programme which will see the progression model implemented as well as our ongoing work towards delivering services within the reduced financial envelope a range of projects and proposals have been developed. The range, scale and potential impact of these projects warrant additional project management support.

Permission is requested to recruit to new Falls Responder roles to continue to provide the falls response service.

The Market Sustainability and Improvement Fund was announced at the autumn statement in November 2022. The primary purpose of the fund is to support local authorities to make tangible improvements to adult social care services in their area, in particular to build capacity and improve market sustainability.
