Overview of work on the Local Government Boundary Commission for England's review of Bury Council

To provide Cabinet and Council with the background to the reasons why the Local Government Boundary Commission for England have required Bury to review its number of councillors and the future mapping of wards in the borough.


The report will provide an overview of the content of the Bury’s Council Size Submission which is the first stage of the review process.


This report and review only relate to the internal ward boundaries in the borough and the number of councillors.  It does not involve reviews of parliamentary boundaries which are undertaken by the four Boundary Commissions in the United Kingdom, which are separate organisations.
