This decision will be taken under urgency procedures.

Reason for urgency:

Decision was set for November Cabinet however negotiations on the price took longer than expected as costs were higher than anticipated.

This has now been rectified and we are seeking to appoint Eric Wright Construction as a matter of urgency given the programme has been delayed by 6 weeks already and the funding is subject to tight UKSPF deadlines and needs to spent by March 2025.

Making the decision now to appoint the contractor will enable contracts to be drafted before Christmas and will allow the contractor to mobilise and commencing site preparation and enabling works in early January.

Waiting for January Cabinet would delay the commencement and put the project at significant risk of failure.
